I’m going to try a slightly new look for the daily blog page and have a round up section and also a thumnail gallery for the some of the pictures:

I think I’m seeing an incredibly good result (this remark is pre-testing) thus far. The rock is coming to life and the component parts are all functioning reasonably well. The skimmer seems to have a varying skim which I’m monitoring. I believe that part of the issue is the pump not drawing through a consistent volume of water and this causes a drop in the water level in the skimmer column. I’m going to keep tweaking the weir and the skimmer to see if I can make them work together with some consistency.

[header 5]Life[/header]The greenery is growing! I’m not sure what it is yet but I have 5 stems of something green and organic and I’m chuffed.

[header 5]Equipment[/header]NeWave circulation pumps and the JBJ wavemaker have arrived and have been installed. Although, I’m not sure I will leave them where they are and will probably move them more to the back of the tank.

First impressions of the NeWave is that the noise level is negligible and by that I mean that all you can hear is a low electronic hum when you put your ear close to the glass.
I’m happy with both of the NeWave units and I will let you know how the ongoing performance is at regular intervals.

Again, this seems on initial use to be a nice piece of kit but as we all know only time will tell. I should point out the only concern that I have is the manufacturer only offers a limited 6 month warranty which made my subconscious wonder about their own lack of faith!
The setup of the unit is straight forward; plug in your powerheads, plug the unit in the socket and set the time delay and you are up and running.
