No real adjustments today. Emptied the skimmer as normal and adjusted the wier to maintain the water level in the skimmer chamber. Dropping the temperature, will wait to see how this works out overnight. Everything seems fine. My temptation to start stocking is killing me! I have promised myself that I will wait but I’m really struggling to control impulse!

[header 5]Life[/header]Greenery is still growing and seems to like the top part of the reef and has appeared on all three rocks that form the top of the reef. See the picture and text below about the sand mounds. Also have the first appearance of some green algae on the glass of the aquarium.

[header 5]Equipment[/header]Sump seems to be working well with the media acting as a large particle block over the live rock and I’m going to add a fine filter gauze between the skimmer and the live rock in the third chamber. I also moved one of the water returns to point at the surface to break the meniscus. I’m going to move the thermometer to the left hand side of the tank and put it more out of sight.

The armadillo has been on the move; The trouble I’m having is that I can’t provide a picture of my critter! I see shapes in the sand that look like the sort of mounds that turbo snails cause but since I mentioned finding it at the back of the tank I have not seen it since. I then start questioning myself about the possibility that wave control may be causing it but feel that this can not be the cause. Reason being is that I would expect the sand to “bank” which it is but in patterns that are too close together. Take a look at the picture and decide. What do you think is causing it?
